Beavercreek Music Parents Association Receives Grant from Target for Weekend of Jazz 2009
[BEAVERCREEK, OHIO] (JANUARY 10, 2009) — The Beavercreek Music Parents Association (BMPA) today announced a partnership with Target® in recognition of its efforts supporting music education for the youth of Beavercreek, Ohio and surrounding communities. The grant will be used to provide children direct access to professional musicians, to ask questions about their careers, and to receive advice and tutoring on their own performance skills.
“We are appreciative of Target’s generosity and proud to share the common goal of making a difference in our community,” said Don Gebele, BMPA President. “What better way is there to make a positive difference than to provide learning experiences for children and families that they will value for a lifetime.”
This grant is part of ongoing efforts by Target to strengthen families and communities throughout the country. Since opening its doors, Target has given 5 percent
of its income to organizations that support education, the arts, social services and volunteerism. Today that translates to more than $3 million every week.
“At Target, our local grants are making a difference in the communities we serve,” said Laysha Ward, vice president, community relations, Target. “We’re proud to partner with BMPA as part of our ongoing commitment to give back to the communities where our guests and team members live and work.”
